Analysis Issues and Advances in the T2K Long Baseline Neutrino Oscillation Experiment

Hirohisa A. Tanaka

University of British Columbia

The Tokai-to-Kamioka Experiment  studies neutrino oscillations using a muon neutrino beam produced by the J-PARC accelerator complex. Among the flagship measurements is the appearance of electron neutrinos and the precision measurement of the “disappearance” of muon neutrinos due to neutrino oscillations which are currently the world’s best. In this seminar, I will discuss some of the challenges associated with these analyses and some new techniques that have significantly improved the sensitivity of the experiment, and explore future possibilities.
